In a world where information from the government is getting to the population quicker and easier. How much information is too much? Obviously western countries are better at this than lets say, China or Russia. But how much does the population need to know? Do they need to know about every law? is it the governments responsibility to give this information to the population or is it best to leave it to the newspapers? There are pros and cons to both. Obviously making military operations public is a blatant risk factor to those operations, but shouldn't the population have a chance to learn about it after its over?
I'm not some hard core liberal, that wants all information open to the public, i'm far from it, I see the benefits to need to know information. But in certain terms, I feel that our politicians should explain their reasoning and what they hope from the future from certain laws. e.g. Tax Cuts, 'we are cutting tax to improve competition and to boost business in our country. Poor example, I know but hearing a politician say this will give us an idea to their plans for our country and to show us if they have thought about their laws or are just stupidly naive. Yeah politicians say why they are making a law, but I bet the majority of the population, know 99% of politicians are saying what they can so they can win an election.
My point is, is that we need better communication between our government and the population. Yeah we can use news companies but they all have an angle, an agenda. Would it be so hard for the government to have a clear website which they update constantly about new laws and updates. They can keep an archive, yeah they could be biased but then news companies can analyse this information, see if they are speaking the truth or trying to con us. Either way there needs to be better communication about certain aspects. Laws would have better public opinion if the government explicitly said why or why not with a reason.
Working Together to Better the World
Please comment your opinions on political systems.
It is said every year. The left say it, the right say it. We need to work together. On this, on that, on whatever faces their country. Whether that be war or poverty. This is something I agree with, the left or the right will not be able to solve problems facing the world, ever. The two sides have opposing opinions about most things and similar opinions about a small number of things. But either sides idea wont work. Time and time before extreme socialism have proven to not work, it puts to much control over the population. But capitalism doesn't help either, yeah it makes people a lot of money, but the biggest problem is that it creates a bigger gap between the rich and poor. I'm not here to give a solution because lets face it, it would be a miracle for one person to fix it, it would need a group, people from both sides, explaining how the economy and the people matter. What I've noticed in the short time I've been interested in politics is that the right normally try to look after the economy which is fair enough because with a shit economy, the people will not be able to live, prices will be to high. Money would be worth less in a poor economy world and that just doesn't help anyone. Eventually people will revolt as they are not happy, as the government is making cuts on healthcare or emergency services. The left look after the people, making sure the rich is paying enough tax, making sure the government is giving the population the best possible living standards, but in turn this can ruin the economy so that the very problem the right is trying to prevent happens.
There are problems that are seen in both sides of the political spectrum which is why I like the centralist's. As it's the best way to progress politics to progress the world in a way that our economy can run efficiently and the people wont face cuts.
For the people who argue that capitalism is working, being in debt is not working for countries. The poor get poorer and the rich get richer, surly you can see the problem in this? It will ruin the world.
And to the people who support socialism, the main problem is that is gives to much power to the state, can you not see the problem that is there? Another problem is that, what is the point in trying? You get rich you pay more tax, you do well in your field of work, you get paid the same.
In the west I feel that it is too late for a complete change so quick, everyone is so used to capitalism and to take it away would crush a lot of peoples spirits. so I ask, without success where does tax come from? The people that cry for socialism don't understand the risks, they don't understand that the system they have grown up in is so different to what socialism is.
We need to work out a new political and economic system that will work better than the others but also incorporate the best of what they are. We need to work together to make sure that everyone is represented in this system for the world is slowly burning in more ways than one.
This is something I will continue to research and talk about more, please comment on how you feel and how your political system may not work.
Post Election Thoughts
So the Conservatives lost their majority. Calling the election has been the biggest mistake in recent conservative history and Teresa May's biggest mistake in her career. Whats going to happen now? Well first, the queen's speech has to get through parliament. The Queen's speech is something that normally happens each year and will list the new laws that will be debated by parliament. The government is free to introduce new laws that the queen doesn't mention. The speech will happen on the 21st of June and MPs will vote on it a week later. The conservatives have the most MPs but not a majority, so they need to strike a deal with another party to secure the votes for the queens speech so that Teresa May stays Prime Minister. The party they are trying to make a deal with is the DUP who is a party in Northern Ireland which is more right wing than the conservatives. We will see in time the true outcome of all this. But at the end of the day it was a mistake calling the election.
The UK general election 2017
The British government have called a general election to decide on a new government, there are many reasons why they could have called a general election. Firstly, the Prime Minister wants to be elected by the general population rather than just the party voting them in, this would solidify the government’s power and it would show that the population does want them to lead the country and the Brexit negotiations. Secondly if they win an even bigger majority this would unite the government more and strengthen the government in the Brexit negotiations and passing more laws. Lastly, some have claimed that it has been called, to stop any party infighting that may occur but this is unconfirmed.
The coming British election, 8th June, will decide the next government. The main two parties in the election is the Conservative party and the Labour party, the conservatives are currently in power and are expected to win more seats come 8th June. Maybe they won’t have a majority, but that looks highly unlikely due to the competition, which is the Labour party who is the only other major party. The Labour party has infighting within the party which doesn’t help their chances, their party is not united on their stance in politics. I feel that the leader in the labour party is too left for the Labour party and the population. I’m not saying that their policies are wrong or bad but they need a way to market their ideas where the wider population will understand and like their policies. A problem with a lot of politicians is that they have no depth in their policies or what they stand for, they don’t explain what or why they want more clearly. The next and biggest problem is that people don’t want to listen, they get bored and they end up not learning about the polices politicians are putting forward. Generally, people will follow and like one party and they will stick with it, they won’t read up on other political parties to see what they really stand for or what they really offer to the population.
The biggest hope to stop the Conservative party winning another term is for the minor parties to work together and source all their MPs to make a coalition government but the minor parties won’t have a chance the Green Party will likely only get one MP, the Liberal democrats will get no more than 15 MPs and the Scottish National Party will get about 50 MPs so overall they will not have much of a chance of beating the conservatives.
Overall I feel that the Conservative Party will win another term. It is not who I support but I feel that they will win. Because the majority of people that I have spoken to will vote Conservative, and betting companies are heavily favouring the Conservatives.
I will talk more about the different parties and why I think they are good or bad and what they could do to improve.
The future of world politics
Hello World, I propose a world instead of multiple countries but just one, we should be one country. All of us working together to create something better. This will solve a lot of problems the world faces. Bear with me as I explain my proposal for the combined union of the world (Working title). Some of you reading this may disagree, and that is perfectly fine because I feel that in time I can convince you. My plan will not be to introduce this at the earliest convenience but to build up to it and to gradually get the world ready for this possible future. You will be hard pressed to argue that this is a bad idea as the majority of all nations on this planet were created from multiple smaller nations, if you look at Russia, china, USA or the U.K. they were not just created with the border they now have, they built up their country by multiple factions joining together to create these great nations that we know now, so why cannot that work for the world. Why can't one day we just work together to make something better, to make an empire, to make sure the human race will last indefinitely. What I am proposing will not force you to socialise with people you don't want to, you can sit in your corner of the world if you really want to. I’m proposing a future for the earth, for the human race to be big to start an empire in this crazily massive universe. If there are other civilisations in the universe or the galaxy, then we need to be prepared to defend ourselves if it comes to it. And the best way? Would be working together.
The beauty of this proposal is that people can still do what they want to do, countries can still decide laws for themselves, but in the case of a problem that involves everyone joining forces, we would already have a system in place.
If we don't work together there will be another world war but bigger, I guarantee it. Maybe not within the next 20 years maybe not in the next 50 years but there will be one. With the possibility of nuclear weapons involved it will be the most deadly war in human history. Just imagine humans being wiped out by humans.
A war at this scale could start by small things such as political mistake or someone getting offended. But if we advanced in technology and travelled the galaxy and colonized it without working together the USA or Russia could possibly find a resource that could make them even more powerful and then they could rage war on the rest.
One way this could work is if the UN adopts this as they are already set up with the connections, they would just need to alter their operations and structure.
This one country idea could happen by a country taking over the rest but that will not lay the foundations of a successful empire. I am proposing this so that people will accept it and want it instead of it being forced on them.
Now I am not proposing that all this will happen the first day the proposal is signed but what will happen is that we will build up to the end goal of a human empire, with multiple proposals like a congress. At the start all countries will keep their land and everything they own and they will keep all of their political systems and in turn we would become one. Each country will vote someone to represent their country in the world government like the UN, and in these meetings countries will agree on the future of the world and the human race. This congress like government would at the start have no power but they would gradually get powers, such as deciding what the best ways are to defend the world, what places we should colonise to expand the human race without any problems. Getting rid of poverty and making more homes for people.
Funding is an issue as countries would have to pay for this, and some may not want to or don't have the money, but this government would need a fund, not at first as everything will still be delegated by each individual country.
By doing this we will create peace throughout the world as we will be working together as one country. We as a world will have a joint army for future possible defence; we will treat each country equally important, special and sacred. At the start we will all vow to protect each other from threat. Once in effect we will not be able to take land from each other. Unless they want to give it up to make things quicker. This should create ever lasting peace on earth, with only threat from outside our atmosphere.
We will one day as one country colonise the different inhabitable planets of our galaxy and then we will spread to outside of our galaxy. The planets in our galaxy I without a doubt am sure will have valuable resources that will benefit our expansion as an empire in the world. When we meet other species we must treat them with as much respect as we would our fellow human.
The future I see, what I want to see, is a human race that will span galaxies with planets with the highest of skyscrapers, with no one in poverty or poor. I want a utopia, a realistic utopia for everyone.
It is extremely highly possible that one day we will meet an alien race that will want to rage war on us and in the that case we will need a plan of action, expanding the human race to other planets will help in defending the human race as we will be able to keep humans alive, and also use other planets to launch attacks. At the moment nuclear bombs will be used against aliens in the outcome of war, but one other weapon that will be greatly needed will be EMPs which will be used on spaceships if they attack earth or another of our planets.
If we do encounter aliens then we would want to trade with them, we would need a currency, a world currency as the other civilisation would have to trade with 180 different currencies if we do not have one currency. Also they would unlikely trade with the weaker currencies and only trading to the bigger and better ones. This would in turn leave some countries behind and they would possibly live in squalor. But having one currency would make it easier for not only the aliens, but for the world as it would be easier to trade overseas.
As we would be working together debt to each other can be slowly erased. The country's with the least debt getting more of a rebate also if they are owed money.
